Warranties and Guarantees

All labor by Ernie's Custom Shop / Ernie's Wrecker Service, Inc. includes a 12-month or 12,000-mile limited workmanship warranty (whichever comes first), covering installation errors only. Parts are covered by their manufacturer, and warranty excludes towing, alignment (unless we performed it), off-road/race use, modifications, neglect, or misuse. Customers must return for a wheel/tire re-torque at 50 miles and suspension re-torque at 500 miles; failure voids the warranty. Warranty claims must be made directly with us before outside repairs. Use of aftermarket/off-road parts is at the owner's risk. A 5% service fee applies to all invoices, and cancellations are subject to a 10% fee. By accepting service, the customer agrees to these terms and to cover all collection costs, including attorney's fees, if necessary.

  • Labor warranty: 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first
  • Labor warranty covers installation errors only
  • Parts warranty: as provided by manufacturer
  • Warranty excludes towing, alignment unless we performed it, off-road/race use, modifications, neglect, and misuse
  • Warranty claims must be made directly with us before outside repairs

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate vehicle information and history
  • Disclosing any existing modifications or issues
  • Following recommended maintenance schedules
  • Using the vehicle within normal operating parameters

  • Returning for suspension re-torque at 500 miles
  • Notifying us directly before outside repairs for any warranty claim
  • Paying for services as agreed

Limitation of Liability

Ernie's Custom Shop's liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.

For vehicles left at our facility:

  • We provide secure storage during service

  • Customers must retrieve vehicles within 60 days
  • We are not responsible for personal items left in vehicles

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from our services will be resolved through binding arbitration in Lake County, Illinois. Illinois state law governs these terms and conditions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and will become effective immediately. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
