Wired, fused, aimed
Off-Road Lighting and Electronics Installation in Vernon Hills
Most of the work in a lighting install is the wiring you never see. Circuits get their own fuse, wiring is routed where heat and moving suspension cannot reach it, and lights are aimed before the vehicle is handed back. That is the difference between a light bar that works for years and one that flickers out the first wet spring.
Covers light bars, pods, rock lights, headlight upgrades, switch panels, dash cams, and interior electronics.
What the job includes
All of it is part of the work.
- A planned circuit
- Each accessory gets its own fuse and switch, sized for the load. A switch panel keeps all of it off the factory harness and leaves room for the next one.
- Protected routing
- Wiring loomed and secured away from exhaust heat, sharp edges, and anything that moves with the suspension or the doors.
- Aiming
- Auxiliary lights aimed for the way you actually drive, and set so they are not pointed into oncoming traffic.
- Interior electronics
- Dash cams, phone mounts, chargers, and accessory power run cleanly behind trim rather than taped along a pillar.
What we specify
Every one of these is decided against your vehicle rather than off a chart.
- How many circuits the setup wants, and how each one is fused.
- A switch panel, or individual switches.
- Whether the mount already exists on your vehicle or we make one.
- Headlight and taillight upgrades, which differ by vehicle.
- How far the interior comes apart to keep the wiring out of sight.
- Whether a dash cam is hard-wired for parking mode, which wants a constant source as well as a switched one.
What we'll ask you
Usually enough for us to price it on the first call.
- The year, model, and trim.
- What you want lit, and where you drive at night.
- Whether you want one panel or separate switches.
- Any accessory already wired in, so we plan around the load.

Lighting & Electronics questions we get
- Are off-road lights street legal in Illinois?
- Auxiliary off-road lights are covered when not in use and are not for road driving. We install them so they are aimed and switched correctly, and we will tell you what the rules are for your setup rather than guessing for you.
- Will adding lights drain my battery?
- Not on a correctly wired install. Each circuit is fused and switched, so nothing draws with the vehicle off unless you asked for it, like a dash cam parking mode.
- Can you wire a dash cam so there are no visible wires?
- Yes. It is run behind the headliner and trim to a switched or constant source, depending on whether you want parking mode.
