GM full-size SUVs

Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukon Wheels and Suspension

A full-size SUV gets modified without losing the reason you bought it. These are family vehicles that tow, so wheel diameter, tire load rating, and ride quality matter more here than maximum lift height.

Covers Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Yukon XL.

Setups people go with

Setups we build on this platform. Tell us which one you are after and we will price it with the labor.

Wheel and tire package on the factory height
The most requested change. Diameter and load rating chosen so the ride and the tow rating survive.
Leveling kit with a matched wheel and tire package
Removes the rake and fills the wheel well without a full suspension change.
Suspension package with performance shocks
What the Tahoe in our gallery runs, with aftermarket wheels and a full lighting upgrade.

What affects fitment

Year, make, and model on their own do not settle whether a part fits. These are the things that change the answer.

  • Bolt pattern is 6x139.7mm across the modern full-size GM SUVs.
  • Magnetic Ride Control or air ride, which limits which struts and shocks apply.
  • Tire load rating, because these tow and carry people.
  • Wheel diameter and sidewall, which decide how much ride quality you keep.
  • Brake caliper clearance on larger factory brake packages.
  • Running boards, flares, and sensors that a wider wheel package can foul.

A manufacturer's fitment list gets us close. We check it against your actual vehicle, including the trim and anything already changed on it.

What goes with it

Specified alongside the main parts rather than discovered afterward.

  • An alignment after any leveling kit or suspension change
  • Struts rated for Magnetic Ride Control, where the vehicle has it
  • A tire load rating that still covers what you tow
  • Sensor or running board adjustment on wider wheel packages

Tahoe, Suburban, or Yukon questions we get

Will bigger wheels ruin the ride?
Diameter and sidewall decide that. We will tell you which combination keeps the ride you want and which one you will feel on Lake Cook Road.
Can you level a Tahoe with Magnetic Ride Control?
Often, but the hardware options are narrower. Tell us the trim and we will confirm what applies to your vehicle.
Will a wheel and tire package affect towing?
It can, through load rating and effective gearing. Tell us what you tow and we will keep the package inside it.
